Actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar’s involvement in activism took a new turn when she met the Tami Nadu Chief Minister, Edapadi K Palaniswamy yesterday. The Kasaba actress handed over 60,000 signatures collected during the Save Shakti campaign which she had recently launched, and urged the CM to take swift action in harassment cases.
According to a report, the 32-year-old said: “We requested the honorable CM to form Mahila Court in every district and ensure that a proper verdict is announced within six months.”

The actress further stated that Tamil Nadu, which is considered one of the safest states, is still vulnerable to such crimes. “We need to prevent any such happenings and for that, we need faster redress systems,” she said.
