Expert spy, athlete, and assassin, Natasha Romanova – popularly known as Black Widow, from Marvel Comics will soon have her own movie. Variety reported that the standalone movie, starring Scarlett Johansson, is in the works with Jac Schaeffer writing the script.
While it is still in the development stage, Variety further reported that Marvel’s President Kevin Feige met several potential writers before zeroing in on Schaeffer. Johansson has starred as the fictional superhero in six films, the next one being this year’s Avengers: Infinity War.
Schaeffer is a film director, producer and screenwriter known for her 2009 feature film debut TiMER. She is also the writer for the upcoming film Nasty Women, starring Anne Hathaway, which is a remake of the 1988 comedy film Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
Meanwhile, here are some of the reactions to the Black Widow film:

So APPARENTLY there is a #BlackWidow movie in the works. FINALLY! And I know a lot of people are like, “Oh, DC did it first!” BUT, this isn’t a Marvel VS DC tweet. Honestly, I feel like #WonderWoman would be congratulating BW on getting a film. Solidarity against the Patriarchy. pic.twitter.com/RJ08PqEUgC
