Master, the recently-released Tamil film that starred Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi, will have its digital premiere on Amazon Prime Video on Friday.
Written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film released in theatres on January 13 on the occasion of Pongal.
In a press release, Kanagaraj said, “Master film has brought two very strong actors face to face in the film, that serves as great entertainment hook for people to come and watch the film in theatres. However, with the film’s global digital release on Amazon Prime Video, we are hoping to reach a wider audience that’s been at home, and reach regions that otherwise wouldn’t have been possible.”
The film which also features Malavika Mohanan, Andrea Jeremiah, Shanthnu Bhagyaraj, and Arjun Das in prominent roles, will be available on the OTT platform just two weeks after its release.
Speaking about the film, Vijay said in the press release, “In the film, I am essaying the character of an alcoholic college professor, John Durairaj, who is transferred to a juvenile school. That’s where he meets his arch nemesis- Bhavani- played by Vijay Sethupathi, who has been using the children of the school in question for his own personal profit. I am certain that the interesting duel between John and Bhavani will take the audiences on a roller-coaster ride of action, and drama.”
While Sathyan Sooryan was in-charge of cinematography, music was composed by Anirudh Ravichander. On January 15, Endemol Shine India, Cine1 Studios, and 7 Screens announced that the film’s Hindi remake rights have been acquired by them.
