With the promotions for Maari 2 happening in full swing, the first-look posters of the film were released last week. The character posters of Dhanush, Sai Pallavi, Tovino Thomas, Krishna, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Robo Shankar were unveiled.
Directed by Balaji Mohan and produced by Dhanush under his banner Wunderbar Films, Maari 2 stars Sai Pallavi in the lead. It also features Tovino Thomas, who plays antagonist, Krishna, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Vidya Pradeep, Robo Shankar and Kalloori Vinoth in supporting roles. While there isn’t a lot of information about the plot, the film is expected to be a gangster drama, similar to Maari. The film is slated to release sometime in December.
The characters revealed thus far:
Dhanush as Maari
The poster shows Dhanush as a gangster sporting a moustache, a veshti and shirt with floral patterns, and John Lennon sunglasses. In the image, captioned ‘the naughtiest don’, Maari is seen flicking a fire-cracker.

She’s the Joint Secretary of State – Department of Law and Judiciary, dressed in crisp cotton sarees; not very unlike her look in Sarkar in which she played politician.
