Actress Megha Akash is in talks to play the female lead in two Telugu films. Reports say that the Enai Noki Paayum Thota actress has been approached to play the female lead opposite Akhil Akkineni in his upcoming film, directed by Vikram Kumar.
Megha Akash is currently doing a couple of Tamil films, one of which is opposite Dhanush. Gautam Menon is directing this film and it is still in the production stage. Director Vikram Kumar had seen her and decided to rope her in for his upcoming film with Akhil. The film is expected to go on floors in January.
“He wants a fresh face for the Telugu film, so he showed her pictures to Nagarjuna, who agreed,” a source told Deccan Chronicle.
Interestingly, Megha is also being considered for actor Nithiin’s film with director Hanu Ragahavapudi. “She is one option for Nithiin’s film and he has spoken to her. Nothing has been officially signed, but in a few days time she may finalise her role,” added the source.
The film with Nithiin will be produced by 14 Reels Entertainment. The director is currently scouting for locations in the USA.
Megha Akash’s first film is Oru Pakka Kadhai with Kalidas Jayaram playing the male lead. Although the film has been completed, there has been no announcement about it’s release yet.
Recently, the director Balaji Tharaneetharan has arranged a special preview of the film to his close friends in the industry including directors Karthik Subbaraj, Nalan Kumarasamy, Arun Vaidyanathan, Pa Ranjith and Suseenthiran. They unanimously appreciated the film.
