Megha Akash Instagram Account Hacked, Retreived Later

Megha Akash At The 'Petta' Audio Launch

Actress Megha Akash, who was last seen in the Simbu-starrer Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven, has a huge follower base on social media. Recently, she tweeted saying that her Instagram had been hacked, and requested her followers to ignore the posts.

It is speculated that a Russian site hacked into the actor’s account, changed her display picture, and posted some private photos of another person. The hackers even changed her profile name to that of a Russian DJ Damla Ekmekçioglu, and photographs of Damla were added to the account. The next day, the actor informed that her team had retrieved her account, and that it was scary to have her privacy invaded that way.

In January, pictures and selfies of actress Hansika Motwani in a swimsuit became viral after they were leaked online. Hansika tweeted that her phone and Twitter handles had been hacked, and asked everyone not to respond to random messages.

However, they are not the only celebrities who have been victims of cyber-crime recently. The accounts of Akshara Haasan, Amy Jackson and many others have been hacked and misused. Private and intimate pictures of Akshara Haasan were in circulation on social media sometime back. In a press release, the actress wrote at length about the harassment she was subjected to, and the issue that was sorted with the help of the Mumbai Police.

Megha Akash was recently seen in Karthik Subbaraj’s Petta, her first on-screen appearance in a Tamil film. She worked on the Tamil film Oru Pakka Kadhai with Kalidas Jayaram, directed by Balaji Tharaneetharan; and later with Dhanush in director Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Enai Nokki Paayum Thotta. But both films were delayed due to various reasons. She made her acting debut in Telugu with the 2017 film Lie. On the work front, she will be seen in Boomerang directed by R Kannan, and Satellite Shankar in Telugu.
