The first look of Meri Awaz Suno, the upcoming Malayalam film starring Jayasurya and Manju Warrier in the lead roles, was released by the actors through their social media handles on Friday.
Produced by B Rakesh under the Universal Cinema banner, the film is written and directed by Prajesh Sen G, who has previously collaborated with Jayasurya on Captain, the 2018 biopic of VP Sathyan, former captain of the Indian national football team, and the 2021 biographical survival drama Vellam.
Speaking to Silverscreen India, Prajesh said that Meri Awaz Suno will be a family-oriented film. “Jayasurya plays the role of a radio jockey and Manju Warrier plays a doctor in the film. This is their first collaboration. We roped in Jayasurya as he is an artist who does different characters. And since both the lead roles have equal importance, we thought Manju Warrier would be apt for this film. She liked the story and agreed to be part of the project,” he added.
Meri Awaz Suno also features actors SShivada, Johny Antony and Gauthami Nair in pivotal roles. Directors Shyamaprasad and Shaji Kailas have made guest appearances in the film as well.
Speaking about how the film was conceived, Prajesh said, “My grandfather was an army man and he introduced me to the radio. Having grown up listening to radio programs, my first job was at All India Radio. So, while filming Vellam, I began thinking about working on a subject related to the radio. Later, in 2020, I finished scripting Meri Awaz Suno.”
The film, with cinematography by Vinod Illampally, was shot in January 2021 in Thiruvananthapuram. It is currently in the final stages of post-production and the makers are yet to decide on the film’s release.

Prajesh is the co-director of Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, which stars Madhavan and Simran, and marks the directorial debut of the former. “The film has been completed and we had plans to release it this August, but due to the Covid-19 situation, we could not go ahead with the release,” said Prajesh, who added that his other upcoming Malayalam film, the women-centric thriller The Secrets of Women, has also been completed and will be heading for a direct-to-OTT release.
