While the teaser of Mersal, which was released last month, has hit 30 million views already, Vijay’s film’s promo release is out, first telecast during the television premiere of Baahubali 2 on Vijay TV.
The promo sets the anticipation high, especially when Vijay appears on screen and mouths the dialogue: “Kuzhanthai uruvaaga 10 maasam, pattathaari uruvaaga 3 varusham , aana thalaivan uruvaaga oru yugame thevaipadum…” [Need 10 months for a foetus to grow into a baby, three years to become a graduate. To become a leader, it will take ages].
The ‘Aalaporan Tamizhan‘ song plays in the background, guaranteeing a power-packed mass entertainer.

Vijay’s three looks – magician, rural get-up and a stylish one – were unveiled in the 1.15-minute teaser released last month. The Madras high court had recently lifted the interim stay on the title of the film.
Directed by Atlee, Mersal features Vijay in a triple role – as a Panchayat head, a doctor and a magician. His Panchayat head avatar has also been turned into an emoji character on Twitter.
The film also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Nithya Menen, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and SJ Suryah, with music by AR Rahman.
