Filmmaker Ranjit Jeyakodi, who has previously directed the Tamil romantic film Ispade Rajavum Idhaya Raniyum (2019), will be helming the upcoming film. He has also penned the script. It is notable that the filmmaker has previously directed Sethupathi in the 2017 film Puriyatha Puthir.

According to the makers, Michael will star Sundeep in the titular role, while Vijay Sethupathi features in a special action role. Touted to be a massive action entertainer, the film will also feature several other prominent actors in important roles. However, the rest of the cast and crew has not been announced yet.

The pan-Indian film is set to be made in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.

Meanwhile, Sundeep’s latest release is the Tamil anthology film Kasada Thapara, which premiered on SonyLIV on Friday. It is directed by filmmaker Chimbu Devan and produced by Venkat Prabhu. The actor has also produced and played an extended cameo in Vivaha Bhojanambu, which also released on Friday as the first Telugu film to premiere on SonyLIV.

On the other hand, Vijay Sethupathi has a slew of films in the pipeline. His film with late filmmaker SP Jananathan, Laabam is set to hit the big screens on September 9, making it the first Tamil film to release theatrically since the shutdown induced by the second wave of Covid-19. His other film with Taapsee Pannu, Annabelle Sethupathi, will take the OTT route and release on Disney+ Hotstar.

Sethupathi is also currently filming for the Kamal Haasan-headlined multi-starrer Vikram and Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal, directed by Vignesh Shivan.
