Bollywood film Mubarakan will release on 28 July next year. The makers of the Anil Kapoor – Arjun Kapoor starrer also announced two new additions to the cast – Ileana D’Cruz and Athiya Shetty, essaying the female leads in the movie. The film, supposedly a romantic drama, will involve a wedding.

The film marks the first time actor Anil Kapoor and his nephew, Arjun will collaborate on screen. It is reported that the two would be reprising their real life roles in the film, too. According to a DC report, Arjun Kapoor will essay two roles in the film. The characters aren’t brothers this time, like they were in Arjun’s film Aurangzeb. One of the roles will be the nephew of Anil Kapoor’s character while the other will be completely unrelated.
The film is produced by Murad Khetani and Ashwin Varde, who had last produced The Shaukeens in 2014. Noted comedy film director Anees Bazmee, known for directing many of Anil Kapoor’s films including Welcome, No Entry, No Problem, and Welcome Back, will be directing this film as well.
Interestingly, it was announced last year that Milap Zaveri of Mastizaade fame was supposed to direct the film and had approached Abhishek Bachchan for Arjun Kapoor’s role(s). However, when things couldn’t work out, Zaveri dropped out and Bazmee took over.
Team Mubarakan will reportedly start filming in November this year, with Sony Pictures Productions bankrolling the project.
