Nagarjuna is expected to play a major role in Brahmastra. The actor’s spokesperson chose not to confirm the news, but did say that the actor has been approached for the role.
“The offer has come through, but we cannot confirm his participation at this point. An announcement regarding his role, if he chooses to accept, will be made soon,” the spokesperson said.
According to reports, the actor has been interested in making a Hindi film for a long time now. He will reportedly join the sets in Mumbai today.
If this does materialise, the project will mark the actor’s return to the Hindi film industry after 15 years. His last Hindi film was LoC Kargil.
The actor will share screen space with leads Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor in the movie. Ayan Mukherji is the director while Amitabh Bachchan has signed on to play a role central to the proceedings onscreen. Mouni Roy, who rose to fame with the Naagin series on television, reportedly plays the villain in this film.
Dharma Productions’ Karan Johar is the producer of the three-part film.
The film has been in the making for a long time. The first schedule of the project was wrapped up earlier this year in Bulgaria.

Brahmastra is the first film in a fantasy adventure trilogy that Ayan has been working on for the past six years. “This film is a modern day film. It is set in India as it exists today but the name of the film is Brahmastra because the energy, wisdom and powers in the film come from ancient India. As far as costumes are concerned, there are some which may not be the way you would expect them to be,” Ayan said earlier.
At present, Nagarjuna has a multi-starrer with Nani. It has been titled Devadas. The actor said that he was playing a don in the film and that the project was modelled along the lines of Rajkumar Hirani’s films.
