The publicity firm who has been handling the film, had earlier in the day called for the actor’s fan accounts to release the poster. Soon after this, prominent Tamil film industry personalities including,  filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon and music composer Anirudh Ravichander, took to social media to share the first look poster.

The poster features Nayanthara, bleeding from her head, as she stands with a grim expression and a tool in her hand. Surrounded by broken glass, she seems to be in a face-off with someone.

On Wednesday, which also marks six years of his film Naanum Rowdy Dhan, Vignesh Shivan, announced the release of the poster. Shivan wrote on his Twitter, “Thanking God & the universe for all the goodness in life #Netrikann #FirstLookFromTomo #Nayanthara @Milind_Rau To announce this On this day feels special #5YearsOfNaanumRowdyDhaan Thank U @VijaySethuOffl @anirudhofficial @wunderbarfilms #DhanushSir & my team”

Music composer Anirudh Ravichander too shared the poster on his Twitter handle and wrote, “All the best dearest Lady Superstar #Nayanthara, debut producer @VigneshShivN, director @Milind_Rau, super talented @ggirishh and team #RowdyPictures for #Netrikann”

Directed by Milind Rau and bankrolled by Shivan’s banner Rowdy Pictures, Netrikann will be Nayanthara’s 65th film as an actor. The film was announced by Shivan last year on Twitter. From the looks of the poster he released on the film announcement, it was touted that Nayanthara will play the role of a blind person since the title was written in Braille.
