Netrikann will be Nayanthara’s 65th film.

Touted to be a thriller, the film is written and directed by Milind Rau, who is known for directing thriller films, including the 2017 horror-thriller Tamil film Aval, starring Siddharth and Andrea Jeremiah.

The teaser opens with a bird’s eye view of a person lying injured on a road as a voiceover narrates a story about innocent lambs and a cunning fox in a town. Nayanthara is introduced as a blind person, who is accompanied by her guide dog and is portrayed to be strong to tackle a criminal, referred to as the wolf. The teaser ends with a shot of Nayanthara talking to someone over the phone, who seems to threaten her.

Ahead of the teaser’s release, the makers of the film had also released the poster.

According to a report by Firstpost, the film will be an official remake of the Korean film Blind. The film will be co-produced by Kross Pictures, the international production, and distribution company which had made Korean remakes in India, including Oh Baby (Miss Granny), starring Samantha Akkineni, and Te3n (Montage), starring Amitabh Bachchan.

The film is produced by Vignesh Shivn and features Ajmal, Manikandan, and Saran in pivotal roles.

Nayanthara was last seen in Mookuthi Amman, that released on Disney+ Hotstar on November 14, and Darbar opposite Rajnikanth.
