While the official announcement is expected in a couple of months, reports say that the movie will be shot in Kannada and Telugu but will release in Tamil and Malayalam as well. Grandson of the former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, Nikhil Gowda had made his acting debut in 2016 with the film Jaguar.

The 29-year-old actor will also be part of Seetharama Kalyana and Kurukshetra, scheduled for release this year.

The actor had recently expressed his desire to join politics and said that he might contest the upcoming Lok Sabha polls from the Mandya constituency, making him the third generation politician from the family.

“A few party leaders from Mandya have been pressuring me to contest the Lok Sabha polls. As the Chief Minister’s son, I have some responsibilities. If the party leaders decide that I have to contest the elections, I have no choice,” said the actor while touring Mandya.

“It doesn’t mean that my film career is over. I will act in films and concentrate on my political responsibilities,” he said in a ToI report.

It is also said that JD(S) leader LR Shivarame Gowda, who currently represents the Mandya constituency, has been convinced by Kumaraswamy to make way for his son.

Meanwhile, Lyca Productions had recently produced Shankar’s magnum opus 2.0. A sequel to the director’s Enthiran, the movie starring Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson was a box office hit. The production house had also financed Mani Ratnam’s previous film Chekka Chivantha Vanam. It has also been reported they are likely to produce Rajinikanth’s upcoming film with A.R.Murugadoss.

Recently, there had been allegations about the production house not paying actor Simbu his fees. This had forced Simbu to decide not to work with them anymore.
