Speculations around Excel Entertainment and Shah Rukh Khan’s Don 3 have been circulating for some time now. While Shah Rukh Khan will reprise the role of the fugitive Don, some reports suggested that Farhan Akhtar will not only direct the film but will also play the role of a cop.
Says a source, “Farhan had taken a break from acting and channelised all his energy into developing the script for this film of the Don franchise. He has finally locked the script and things are moving in the right direction.” Farhan had also helmed the first two films of the franchise.
However, Farhan recently dismissed all the rumours around Don 3 but refrained from divulging any details.

The hunt for the female lead is, however, still on. In Don and Don 2, Priyanka Chopra played an undercover cop Roma. However, the third installment will have a new female lead as sources claim that Roma’s role has no scope in Don 3 and that her character has been given a closure.
“SRK will be finishing Salute and then get to this film straight away. It is likely to release in 2020,” says the source.
Meanwhile, Farhan deleted his Facebook account joining several Hollywood celebrities in the #DeleteFacebook movement.
