The fallout between the makers of Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran took a serious turn when an FIR was filed against John Abraham, the lead actor and his production company, at Mumbai’s Khar police station on the complaint of KriArj Entertainment.

Prernaa Arora of KriArj said in a statement: “FIR has been registered by Khar police station against John Abraham and his company  John Abraham Entertainment after a criminal complaint was filed by Kriarj Entertainment for commission of various criminal offences including cheating, breach of trust, fraud, misappropriation of funds and copyright infringement due to John and his company duping KriArj Entertainment out of the crores of rupees invested by KriArj Entertainment towards the  production of the film Parmanu.”

Earlier, John’s production house had released a statement, saying, “KriArj has committed material breaches which left us with no choice but to terminate in the interest of the film… We have been waiting and asking for payments at every stage. But their payments have either been delayed or we have received wrong the UTR (unique taxpayer reference) number. Cheque payments have been stopped time and again. Delay in payments/non-payments have caused delays in the post-production work after the film’s principal shoot was completed on time and on schedule last year.”

While KriArj blamed John Abraham Entertainment for not fulfilling its “commitment of completing and intimating us of the completion the film and is fraudulently trying to delay the release of the film thereby causing huge monetary losses and damage to our reputation.”

Meanwhile, after getting postponed thrice, Parmanu is now slated to release on May 4.
