Parthiepan is reportedly working on a sequel to his Ulle Veliye, and may be tasked with directing another biopic on actor Chandrababu.
A spokesperson for Parthiepan said, “Ulle Veliye 2 is Parthiepan’s next directorial. As far as I know, he has not signed any other projects.” The movie will have a fresh script with elements from Ulle Veliye. “It is not a remake. It is entirely a fresh attempt with new cast. We will announce everything soon,” the spokesperson added.
Cast and crew will be announced soon.
Meanwhile, reports have it that another Chandrababu biopic is in the works. Prabhudeva has been attached to the project to bring to life the legendary comic actor while Parthiepan is the director. Attempts to confirm this news was in vain as Parthiepan was unavailable.
However, he did post a link to a news report about the project on his social media account.
The actor-director wrote: “I will produce films that make money. Who is the lucky producer?”

The report further reveals that Parthiepan has another film with Prabhu Deva. The Chandrababu biopic has already been registered, but it is not clear which of the two films will take off first. The spokesperson for Parthiepan said that the news was not true. “Only Ulle Veliye 2 is on the cards for now. Anything that says otherwise is untrue,” he said.
Earlier this month, Kovilpatti Veera Lakshmi director K Rajeshwar announced plans to produce and direct a biopic on the comic star titled JP: The Legend Of Chandrababu.
At present, Parthiepan is hard at work on his film with actor Vishal Krishna. Ayogya, a remake of Telugu film Temper starring NTR, has Raashi Khanna playing the female lead and went on the floors in August this year. While VI Karthik is handling the cinematography, Ruben will be in charge of editing. Sam CS is composing the music.
