Pawan Kalyan To Address The Public At Rajahmundry Today

Actor and politician Pawan Kalyan will address people today at Rajamundry as part of a meeting organised by his Jana Sena Party. The actor will share the stage with former Andhra Pradesh assembly speaker Nadendla Manohar who recently quit Congress and joined the actor’s party.

Founded by Pawan Kalyan in March 2014, Jana Sena Party had recently announced its decision to contest in the upcoming Telangana assembly elections. Inaugurating the party’s Vijayawada office, Kalyan said that the contest will be limited to only 20 or 25 states, according to a report in the The Times of India.

However, the actor chose not to talk about alliances. According to him, “It is too early to talk about an alliance.” The actor had campaigned for TDP and BJP during the 2014 general elections. He slammed the Telangana Rashtra Samiti for dissolving the assembly and advancing the elections. “It is a premature election which is imposed on the people for political reasons,” he said.

In the past, the star had hinted at entering full-time politics even at the cost of movies. “Movies are out of my mind. Right now, the focus is on politics,” he had said. Last year, he was quoted as saying “I am even prepared to forego acting for the sake of taking up brisk political activity for the Jana Sena.”

Agnyaathavaasi – his latest film was believed to be his last film after which he was expected to take a plunge into full-time politics but the poor performance of the film is supposed to have held him back.

Directed by Trivikram Srinivas who gave the 2013 Attarintiki Daredi which was the highest grossing Telugu film of the time, Agnyaathavaasi is embroiled in a controversy: French director Jerome Salle had alleged that the plot of the movie was lifted from his 2014 film Largo Winch.
