Calling the film a “dramedy satire thriller”, film’s director Sanfeer told Silverscreen India, “The story revolves around a delivery person named Carlos played by Joju George. A multi-narrative approach is used in the film where the story will be told from different characters’ perspective and will be interlinked in some way.”

“In most of the films, the title is revealed at the beginning. However, our film’s title- Peace- will be revealed at a specific and crucial point in the story and thus this poster holds a lot of significance.”

The film was shot in almost 45 locations between November 16 and January 20, 2020 in Kochi, Thodupuzha and Kottayam in Kerala. Sanfeer said that Peace was one of the first films that began shooting after the lockdown norms were eased.

Sanfeer who was formerly a scientist with the Kerala State Remote Sensing and Environment Centre wrote Peace’s story about two years ago. The film’s script and dialogue were written by Safar Sanal and Ramesh Girija.

“During my stint as a scientist, I observed a lot of events around me and using that as a sounding board, I’d come up with story ideas. I have 10 scripts ready and of that Peace seemed to be workable in the current situation,” he said.

Sanfeer said that the film’s “formula” was unconventional as they experimented with the structure of screenplay, colour pallet and costumes. They have roped in foreign musicians for the sound design.

Speaking about the film’s release, Sanfeer said that 90% of the post-production work is complete. The makers, however, are yet to finalise the streaming platform for the release.

“Since we began filming during the pandemic, foreseeing the situations we have shot the film in such a way that it is adaptable for both the big screen and OTT platforms,” he said adding that the film will be relatable to the audience beyond language barriers and thus decided to dub and release the film in four languages.

The film’s technical crew consist of Shameer Gibran as the cinematographer, Noufal Abdullah as the editor and Jubair Muhammed as the music composer.

Meanwhile, Joju Geroge, who was last seen in Nayattu has a slew of projects in his pipeline including his Tamil debut film Jagame Thandiram and Malayalam films Malik and Thuramukham.
