Cases seeking the arrest of actress Vanitha Vijaykumar for alleged kidnapping, and model-actor Meera Mithun for money laundering have been filed with the Telangana and Teynampet police respectively. They are currently at the Tamil Bigg Boss 3 house in EVP Film City, Chennai.
The Telangana police have reportedly approached the Chennai police for help in investigating the case of kidnapping against Vanitha Vijayakumar filed by her ex-husband Anandraj. He has alleged that Vanitha kidnapped their daughter from Hyderabad, brought her to Chennai and has kept her in hiding for months.
They married in 2007 and got a divorce in 2012, with the custody of their daughter going to Anandraj. He approached the police in February this year when their minor daughter did not return from school one day. He filed a habeas corpus to locate her and demanded Vanitha’s arrest.
A report by Thanthi TV says that Anandraj along with the Telangana police went to the Nazarathpet police station yesterday and the matter is being investigated.
While reports say that the police have already reached the Bigg Boss house, the spokesperson for Vijay TV, the producers of the show, have denied these reports. The spokesperson told Silverscreen, “These are only speculations. Both Vanitha and Meera Mithun are at the Bigg Boss house right now.”

Meera Mithun was charged with money laundering in a police complaint filed by a designer in Tamil Nadu on May 24. She alleged that Meera cheated her by using the Miss Tamil Nadu title – the beauty pageant that Meera conducted, along with the Miss South India logo and title, which she won in 2016. Meera allegedly borrowed Rs 50,000 from the designer and did not return it. The designer further approached the organisers of Miss South India pageant with a copy of the police complaint, who then decided to take back the title from Meera Mithun.
Meera Mithun entered the Bigg Boss house as the last contestant on June 25, two days after the show began. Vanitha Vijaykumar, daughter of actor Vijaykumar, was on a break after a brief stint in cinema and is now back with Bigg Boss 3. The show is being hosted by actor-politician Kamal Haasan.
