Suriya at the audio launch said that though the movie is inspired from Bollywood’s Special 26 but director Vignesh Shivan gave it his own spin. It’s based on a real incident that took place in 1987. “Usually, in most of my movies, I would be seen tensed and infuriated while emoting. But in Thaanaa Serndha Koottam, my role is completely refrained from such attitudes. Vignesh Shivan would often correct it saying that ‘Sir, the characterisation doesn’t need to get angry. Everything including the dialogue deliveries and body language were completely new to me,” he said.
Sketch
Vikram’s Sketch, directed by Vijay Chander of Vaalu fame, promises to be a mass action entertainer set in North Madras. The film, which is bankrolled by Thaanu’s V Creations, has Malayalam actor Baburaj playing a crucial role and music is composed by Thaman.
