On Tuesday, the film’s title was revealed to be Adipurush. The epic drama will be jointly bankrolled by Om Raut, Prasad Sutar, and Rajesh Nair under their Retrophiles banner and by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar under their T-Series banner. It is reportedly a screen adaptation of the Indian epic Ramayana and revolves around the triumph of good over evil. The magnum opus bilingual will be shot in 3D.
While the film marks Prabhas’ first association with Om Raut, Adipursh will be his third association with Bhushan Kumar after Saaho and the recently announced Radhe Shyam. The film is said to be high on action and VFX.
Prabhas who is very excited to portray his character in Adipurush said, “Every role and every character comes with its own challenges, but portraying such a character comes with tremendous responsibility and pride. I am sure the youth of our country will shower all their love on our film.”

T-Series’ Bhushan Kumar says that he did not want to miss the opportunity of working on this dream project after he heard Om’s narration. “Every project we produce strikes a chord with us, but Adipurush will be a dream project. Just like my father, my family and I closely believe in our tales and history. We have grown up listening to them since we were kids. The audience should get ready to experience a story they believe in on the big screen with spectacular visuals and magnanimous characters,” said Bhushan.
Om Raut said, “I am grateful to Prabhas for accepting the part and my vision and Bhushan ji for his unconditional support. We embark on this journey with tremendous passion and pride and promise our audiences an experience like never before.”
It will be shot in Hindi and Telugu and will see a dubbed release in Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. The team is currently working on the pre-production for the film and will go on floors in 2021. The film is slated for release in 2022.
