Prabhas Thanks His Fans After ‘Baahubali 2’ Crosses The Rs 1000 Cr Mark

SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus Baahubali – The Conclusion, the second installment of his 2015 film Baahubali, has crossed the Rs 1000 crore mark in the box office, becoming the highest grossing Indian film ever. The film achieved this feat in less than ten days after its worldwide release on April 28.

Humbled by this, actor Prabhas, who plays Amarendra and Mahendra Baahubali in the film, took to Facebook to thank his fans in particular for this achievement.

Made with a budget of somewhere between Rs 250 – 300 crores and having released at 6,500 screens within the country alone, Baahubali 2 managed to beat Aamir Khan’s PK ,who dominating the list of highest grossing films in India (Rs 792 crores) for a while. Rajamouli’s film garnered Rs 100 crores on its first day of release (April 28). 

The movie was released in 330 screens in the United States and the opening day’s collections in the US was reportedly at $7.2 million. 

A sequel to Baahubali, The Beginning (2015), Baahubali 2 released two years after the first film, due to extensive post-production work. The movie stars Prabhas, Rana Dagubbati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Sathyaraj, Ramya Krishan, Nasser, and Rohini.
