Actor Priya Anand has joined the cast of director Chethan Kumar’s upcoming Kannada film James. She will be acting alongside actor Puneeth Rajkumar in the film, Cinema Express reported on Thursday. Shooting is underway in Hampi, Karnataka.
Anand has joined the set of the film in Hampi this week, she told The Times of India. Puneeth is also part of the shooting schedule for the first week.
Anand made her debut in the Kannada industry with 2018 film Raajakumara, which also starred Rajkumar, making James the second collaboration between the two actors. James marks Anand’s third Kannada film. In her first Kannada project, she had worked with Ganesh in Orange.
Produced by Kishore Pathikonda, James has been touted as an action commercial entertainer. The film also features Srikanth, Anu Prabhakar, and Adithya Menon. Music for the film has been composed by Charan Raj. This will be the first time that Raj is composing music for a Rajkumar starrer film.
Anand was seen in Tamil romantic drama Adithya Varma, co-starring Dhruv Vikram. A multilingual actor, she has predominantly appeared in Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, Telugu and Kannada films. Anand made her debut in Hindi films with English Vinglish (starring Sridevi) and then appeared in films like Rangrezz (alongside Jackky Bhagnani and Rajpal Yadav) and Fukrey (alongside Pulkit Samrat).
Puneeth was last seen in Kannada supernatural action film Natasaarvabhowma, co-starring Anupama Parumeshwaran and directed by Pavan Wadeyar.
