The team had also planned to rope in AR Rahman as the music director, but now Ilaiyaraaja will be composing the music. Sila Samayangalil was shot in a record time of 16 days. In an interview with Silverscreen.in, actor Ashok Selvan, who plays a crucial role in the film, said the experience of working with the film had been so exhilarating that it would give him a “year-long high”. According to him, “The film isn’t a run-of-mill commercial one. I would say it’s the kind of a film you would love watching and appreciating at film festivals.”

Starring Prakash Raj and Sriya Reddy, Sila Samayangalil focuses on AIDS awareness. This film is jointly produced by Amala Paul’s Think Big Studios and Prabhu Deva’s Prabhu Deva Studios.
