Priyanka Chopra, who was trolled for her ‘inappropriate’ clothes and sitting posture when visiting Prime Minister Modi, responded by posting another picture in which both she and her mother sport outfits that show off their legs.
It all started when Priyanka Chopra posted this picture on her Instagram account:
Priyanka Chopra was in Berlin recently to promote her new film Baywatch, which coincided with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Germany. Priyanka and Modi met each other for about an hour. However, Priyanka’s outfit – she was wearing a short dress that showed off her legs – offended the Indian culture police.
In their eyes, Priyanka had committed a double blunder as Modi was not only the country’s elected leader (and according to UNESCO, the best Prime Minister ever), but also senior to her in age. Many commented that Priyanka’s choice of clothing was inappropriate, and that she should have worn sanskaari-approved sarees, or other “decent” Indian clothing. Many also perhaps unintentionally doubted the Prime Minister’s gaze and motives, asking if it was appropriate to sit the way Priyanka did, in front of a man.
Meanwhile, on Twitter, some pointed out certain… discrepancies:
How can Modiji wear short clothes does he not respect Modiji? pic.twitter.com/lDiL582Bbz

Bhakts more upset about Priyanka Chopra’s knee-length dress than about that racist anti-refugee tank top she wore on a mag cover recently.

Nice of Modi to have the time to meet Priyanka Chopra. What a shame the TN farmers didn’t go to Berlin, else he would have met them too. pic.twitter.com/2uprbzdg0V

But even as trolls and outragers carried on, Priyanka shrugged, posted a second photo, and moved on:
All prizes for throwing shade goes to Priyanka!
