Contrary to speculations that Rajinikanth would play a dwarf in Shankar’s 2.0, the director has now said that Rajini will not play a dwarf in the film, a sequel to the Superstar’s Enthiran.
A report in the Hindustan Times quoted a source saying that Rajini would be seen as Vaseegaran (the scientist) and Chitti (Robot). The source said, “We have no idea how such baseless reports crop up. The movie revolves around Vaseegaran, Chitti and Akshay Kumar’s character.”
Besides these central characters, the movie will also star Sudhanshu Pandey as the dead scientist Bohra (played by Danny Denzongpa in Enthiran). The significance of Amy Jackson’s role is still being kept under wraps.

“Akshay Kumar’s destructive activities would cause the necessity of bringing back Chitti, which was dismantled in the first part. The film will offer a visually stunning experience for the audiences. Aaron Crippen of The Dark Knight fame and Kenny Bates of Transformers have choreographed two high-octane action sequences for the film,” the source told HT.
The shoot is reportedly nearly 90% complete. Only two minor sequences and a song sequence remain. The source told HT that AR Rahman would compose a symphony orchestra for the background score and re-recording would begin in August.
The movie is slated for a 2017 Diwali release and has been bankrolled by Lyca Productions.
