Rakul Preet Singh may play a lead role in Niithin’s next. Directed by Chandrasekhar Yeleti, the film is as yet untitled and is produced by Mythrii Movie Makers. Rakul has been approached for the lead role, says a source close to the production. “Nothing has been finalised as yet. The production is keen on getting Rakul to play the lead role,” the source said.
A spokesperson for Rakul did not comment on the reports. “As of now Rakul is committed to work on NTR biopic, a film with Sivakarthikeyan and two other Hindi films. All projects not announced officially are not true. We cannot confirm this,” he said.
The film with Nithiin has not seen an official launch as yet. The team is hoping to launch the movie in January this coming year. By then, the cast and crew details would have been ironed out, a spokesperson for Mythrii Movie Makers told us. “A lot of the finer aspects are being worked out so we don’t really know who is in and who is out right now. We will announce officially once the film goes on the floors,” he added.
He also said that the movie is an entertainer geared towards the youth. “Everybody will find something to like about this movie. But the youth will love it,” he said.
The actor was recently seen portraying the legendary Sri Devi in the trailer for NTR:Kathanayakudu. She also has Dev with Karthi Sivakumar and an untitled film with Sivakarthikeyan.
After Aiyaary, Rakul has signed on to work in a romantic comedy with the director of Luv Ranjan, De Dr Pyaar De and Marjaavan.
