Actress Rakul Preet Singh will be seen playing the role of an athlete in her next Telugu film. Directed by Gopichand Malineni, the movie will have Sai Dharam Tej playing the male lead.
Rakul Preet, who used to be a national-level golf player in her teens, is a fitness freak. Earlier this year, she had launched her own fitness training centre, F45 in Gachobowli, Hyderabad. Reportedly, due to her background and interest in sports, Rakul Preet has taken a great liking to the role. Reports claim that she is vigorously training herself to play her part with aplomb.
Earlier speaking to Silverscreen.in, director Gopichand confirmed that they were looking for a second heroine. He said, “This is a dual heroine subject. For the second leading lady, we are most likely to go for a newcomer or someone fairly new to the industry.” There has been no news on that front. The movie has music by Thaman.
The movie said to be an action-entertainer, will be jointly produced by Tagore Madhu and Nallamallapu Bujji.

Rakul Preet’s last release was Sarrainodu with Allu Arjun. The movie had a good run at the box office. She also has other movies lined up for release. Shimla Mirchi, her second Hindi film, and Dhruva, her Telugu film, have entered post-production.
Meanwhile, she will also be making her comeback in Tamil through Vishal starrer Thupparivaalan. Directed by Mysskin, it’s reportedly scheduled to start shooting this month. She will also be seen in a Tamil-Telugu bilingual starring Mahesh Babu, tentatively-titled Mahesh23. The movie will be directed by AR Murugadoss and will have music by Harris Jayaraj.
