Ramya Krishnan to play Sivagami in a Kannada film
Ramya Krishnan will reprise her role as Sivagami in a Kannada film that will be directed by Madhu. The film will see Ramya Krishnan as a 9th Century queen. Her portrayal of Sivagami in Baahubali was widely appreciated.
The film also has Praveen in the lead role and Payal, Avinash, Ravi Kale, Golisoda Madhu, Roller Raghu, Kuri Bond Ranga, and Ritesh in supporting roles. The team has started shooting for the film and it will hit the screens next year.

First look of Radhika Apte, Sonam Kapoor In Padman out
Akshay Kumar has posted two photos of Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor and captioned them, as, ‘the strength behind Padman’.
Padman directed by R Balki is based on the life of entrepreneur Arunachalam Muruganantham, who invented low-cost sanitary pad-making machine. The film is scheduled to release on January 26.

Indian Film and Television Director’s Association Convener Thanks Fadnavis
In his letter to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Indian Film and Television Director’s Association Convener Ashoke Pandit thanked the state government for providing police security to director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, ahead of Padmavati’s release. According to the letter, Pandit has also requested the CM to help Bhansali release the film peacefully.

Ministry can reject any film, says IFFI’s jury member
Following the resignation of The International Film Festival Of India’s (IFFI) chief jury Sujoy Ghosh, Apurva Asrani and Gyan Correa has also resigned from the jury in protest against removal of S Durga and Nude from the screening list by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Meanwhile, jury member Rahul Rawail told The Indian Express, “I was informed that Nude will not be the opening film, and was asked if I had any other film as the opening film.”
“Ministry can override and reject any film,” he added.
