There have been several rumours of A-list stars being roped in for a cameo in SS Rajamouli’s Baahabuli 2, with some reports suggesting that Shahrukh Khan was likely to be a part of the Telugu film. Rana Daggubati, who plays the antagonist in the film, has now told Deccan Chronicle that SRK is not involved with the film.
Rana said, “It is false news! SRK is not part of the film. There are no cameos of other south actors as well in Baahubali 2, as the movie has different settings.”
The film’s official Twitter account also reiterated Rana’s statements.
We would have loved to have @iamsrk in our movie ! Who wouldn’t ? But unfortunately it’s a rumour! Not true ! #Baahubali2

While the film is being made on a bigger scale than the prequel, which released in 2015, Baahubali 2 will be different in terms of setting and storyline.

Earlier this week, a source told Mumbai Mirror that SRK would have a cameo appearance in the film. “The makers had approached South actors like Suriya and Mohanlal for a cameo in the Telugu film, which will be dubbed and released in Tamil and Hindi. But now it will be Shahrukh who plays the character of a mediator between protagonist Prabhas and villain Rana Daggubati. It is an interesting sequence in the narrative,” said the source.
Starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Sathyaraj, and Nasser, with music by MM Keeravani and bankrolled by Arka Media Works, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion is slated to release on April 28.
