Actors Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor might star in the remake of Sangam. The two actors have been offered the lead roles in the film by Karan Johar. If they sign, Ranbir would play the role made famous by his grandfather Raj Kapoor, while Ranveer would play Rajendra Kumar’s role. According to reports, Deepika Padukone is likely to play the female lead, originally played by Vyjayanthimala.

If this materialises, this will be Johar’s second film with Ranbir, and his first ever with Ranveer Singh. Reportedly, when the actors appearied together for a recent Koffee With Karan episode, it was a subtle admission that they would be working on the film.
The project is likely to be produced under Johar’s Dharma Productions, and will begin production in 2017, with a planned 2018 release.
Ranbir is currently filming his long-delayed Jagga Jasoos with Anurag Basu. Ranveer Singh, on the other hand, has begun filming for Padmavati with Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone.
