The final shooting schedule for Reliance Entertainment production ’83, that is based on the Indian cricket team’s first World Cup victory, has been completed. The shooting was completed in Mumbai recently. Fans were treated to a glimpse of Ranveer in full action as Kapil Dev, in the iconic Nataraja pose from the semi-final match at the Tunbridge Wells ground against Zimbabwe, where he scored 175 runs.
The semi-final match against Zimbabwe was highly memorable, but was not recorded by the media nor broadcast at the time. In order to look the part as one of modern India’s most memorable sports icons, Ranveer Singh, reportedly, underwent an extreme makeover.
The film has an all-star cast with names from across industries essaying key roles. Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev, Tahir Raj Bhasin as Sunil Gavaskar, Jiiva as Krishnamachari Srikkanth, Sahil Khattar as Syed Kirmani, Dhairya Karwa as Ravi Shastri, Deepika Padukone will be seen in a special appearance as Romi, Kapil Dev’s wife.

The film is co-produced by Deepika Padukone, Sajid Nadiadwala, Kabir Khan, Nikhil Dwivedi, Vishnu Induri, 83 Films Ltd. and Phantom Films. ’83 is directed by Kabir Khan and will release on the 10th April 2020.
