Tanya, the granddaughter of actor Ravichandran, will make her acting debut shortly. She has been signed on to star opposite Sasikumar in an upcoming movie directed by debutant, Prakash P. The film is said to be a rural comedy.
“I play the role of a traditional girl, and have started shooting for the film recently in a village near Madurai,” Tanya says. The actress also revealed that she has been asked to speak in the Madurai dialect for the film.
Actress Kovai Sarala has been cast in a major role in the movie. Sangili Murugan also has a crucial supporting role in the project.

Tanya is also part of Radha Mohan’s Brindhavanam, starring Arulnithi. She is juggling both the projects simultaneously, according to a Times Of India report. Rumours have it that Tanya has also been roped in to play the female lead in director Mysskin’s untitled film. Maitreya, son of producer Raghu Nandan, will also make his acting debut with the project.
The director will begin filming once he wraps up work on Vishal-Rakul Preet Singh’s Thupparivalan.
Actor Ravichandran has had a prolific career with starring roles in films such as Kadhalikka Neramillai, Ethirigal Jaakkirathai and Moondrezhuthu.
