Actress Regina Cassandra will make her Hindi language debut with Aankhen 2. Amitabh Bachchan plays the lead role in this heist thriller. Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Ileana D’Cruz and Arjun Rampal have also been cast in major roles in the film. Planned as a sequel to the 2002 release Aankhen, the movie will be directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Gaurang Doshi.
In an interview with Indian Express, Bazmee revealed the reason behind casting Regina Cassandra in the film.”We wanted an actress who is very fresh, beautiful to look at, could dance and enact emotional scenes. We heard about Regina, saw her films and felt she is brilliant. After this picture, she will go places.”
According to reports, Regina will play a glamourous role in this project. The actress is expected to fly to Mumbai to shoot Aankhen 2 once she finishes filming Gemini Ganesanum Suruli Rajanum. Set in a casino, this film will see Amitabh Bachchan and Arjun Rampal will reprise their roles from Aankhen as Vijay Singh Rajput and Arjun respectively. Akshay Kumar, who was part of the prequel, was not approached for this film.
