RK Selvamani has indicated that FEFSI is willing to come to a compromise with TFPC sometime soon. Both these organisations have been engaged in a battle for the past two weeks over the issue of wages for film employees.
RK Selvamani said, “We welcome negotiations with TFPC. We are looking forward to coming to some sort of understanding with them as this stand off is not good for the industry.”
A couple of days ago, the TFPC headed by Vishal, had come to a decision to allow producers to employ technicians who are not a part of FEFSI. The decision was prompted by the strike of a few FEFSI technicians, who had refused to work unless they were paid transportation costs.
Things had also taken a bitter turn when Dhanapal, who belongs to the Technician Union of FEFSI, had criticised Vishal in crude terms.

“We deeply regret his actions. We have tendered a formal apology to Vishal. We understand that he’s also doing his very best to make sure that this situation is eased out. So for someone to use such bad words to describe him is a crime. Dhanapal will make a formal apology in front of the media soon,” said Selvamani.
Vishal’s spokesperson welcomed RK Selvamani’s efforts and said that something positive will happen soon.
