The makers of Raghava Lawrence‘s upcoming project revealed the film’s title, Rudhran, on the actor’s 44th birthday on Thursday.
“We are happy to announce Title look of @offl_Lawrence‘s Rudhran #RudhranbyFivestarcreations Happy Birthday,” wrote the producers of the film on Twitter.
The film’s title poster, in shades of red, shows the silhouette of the actor standing in a crowd, with smoke around him.
Sharing the first look, choreographer-turned-actor Lawrence wrote: “Hi friends and fans, Here is my next film title look. Happy to release it on my birthday. I need all your blessings.”
Slated to release in 2021. GV Prakash Kumar will compose the music for the film and it will be produced by Kathireshan under the banner Fivestar Creations.

Lawrence started his career in Tamil cinema as a choreographer in the 1993 Tamil film Uzhaippali. He later took up acting and direction as well. His first directorial venture was the 2004 film Mass. The actor will also make his directorial debut in Hindi with Laxmmi Bomb, the remake of his 2011 horror-comedy film Kanchana. The film will feature Akshay Kumar, Kiara Advani, Ayesha Raza Mishra, Tusshar Kapoor, Sharad Kelkar, Tarun Arora, and Ashwini Kalsekar.
Initially scheduled to release on May 22, Laxxmi Bomb was postponed due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdown.
Later in June, Kumar announced that the film will release exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar as part of the Disney+ Hotstar Multiplex initiative. The decision to stream the film on the OTT platform came after theatres closed down due to the lockdown. However, the film will have a theatrical release in countries where theatres have reopened- United Arab Emirates, Australia, and New Zealand.
The official trailer of the film was released on October 9, and the film is slated to release on November 9, on the occasion of Diwali.
