Sai Pallavi may be making her Kannada debut with director Prem’s upcoming film Ek Love Ya. Prem announced on Sunday that he is introducing his brother-in-law Abhishek Rao as the lead actor of the film.
A report by Cinema Dinamalar suggested that Sai Pallavi is in talks to play the female lead. However, a source close to the film denied knowledge of these speculations.
Director Prem recently revealed the poster of the film. The title, which can be read as Eklavya or Ek Love Ya, has created a buzz among his fans. The tagline reads ‘love is all you need’, and has been promoted as a romantic film based on a true story.

The film is produced by actor Rakshita, director Prem’s wife. Some reports suggest that Sudharini’s daughter Nidhi plays the lead role along with Abhishek Rao. This is also yet to be confirmed.
Director Prem is working with Arjun Janya for the film’s music. Songs from their previous film The Villain (2018) were a hit, and actor Abhishek Rao reportedly gained exposure to cinema during the shooting of this film.
Meanwhile, Sai Pallavi is currently gearing up for her Malayalam comeback Athiran, co-starring Fahadh Faasil. The movie is set in a hospital in Ooty, and stars Prakash Raj, Atul Kulkarni and others. Directed by debutant Vivek, the film has been pitched as a psychological thriller.
The filmmakers announced last week that Athiran will also release in Tamil and Telugu, considering the popularity of Sai Pallavi and Fahadh. The film is gearing up for release on Vishu, April 15. Sai Pallavi’s next Tamil film NGK directed by Selvaraghavan, starring Suriya in the lead, will release on May 31.
Since the success of Balaji Mohan’s Maari 2, Sai Pallavi has been working on many projects in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. She gained fame with Premam (2015) co-starring Nivin Pauly, and later worked with Dulquer Salman in Kali. She made her Telugu debut in the 2017 romantic film Fidaa, and Tamil debut with Diya in 2018.
