Saithaan will release on December 2. The film stars Vijay Antony and Arundhathi Nair and was originally scheduled to release in September this year. Due to production issues, the release date was postponed to October 28, putting it in direct competition with two other Diwali releases – Kodi and Kaashmora. However, that release date fell through as well and a new release date of November 7 was fixed. Subsequently, the demonetisation initiative meant that the release date had to be pushed forward again.
Biker Alisha Abdullah, who is reportedly a part of Saithaan‘s cast, has said that the film will be a psychological thriller similar to The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.
The team plans to release the first 5 minutes of the film on November 17.

Saithaan marks the directorial debut of Pradeep Krishnamurthy. In an official statement, Pradeep said that he was stunned by Vijay Antony’s acting in the film: “Every great story requires a great actor who can justify it. Being an actor doesn’t mean merely photocopying the expressions and dialogues given in the script. Rather a life has to be given to that role. In that case, I was really stunned by the performance of Vijay Antony sir in the demonic role.”
The filmmaker has already signed his next with Sibiraj, even before Sibiraj’s first movie releases.
Meanwhile, Vijay Antony is currently filming Yeman, which is scheduled to release in mid-2017.
