Actress Samantha will be reprising the role played by Nithya Menen in the Malayalam film Bangalore Days in its Tamil remake. Samantha will be paired opposite actor Rana Daggubati, who reprises Fahadh Faasil’s role. Earlier in February, Samantha and ex-boyfriend Siddharth had both turned down offers to star in the remake.

The remake will be directed by Bommarillu’s Bhaskar and produced by PVP cinemas. Originally titled Arjun Divya Matrum Karthik and referred to as ADMK, the filmmaker’s are planning to use a different title, as the original title did not get approval due to its similarity with the name of a political party. Starring Arya, Bobby Simha, Rana Daggubati, Raai Laxmi, and Parvathy Menon, shooting of the remake is already underway in parts of Chennai.
Samantha is currently shooting for Suriya’s 24, Vijay Milton’s 10 Endrathukulle, Dhanush’s VIP 2, Atlee’s Vijay 59, and the Telugu film Brahmotsavam.
