Kartik Aaryan, the Hindi actor, on Wednesday, announced his upcoming project with producer Sajid Nadiadwala, titled Satyanarayan Ki Katha. The film, which will be a musical, is set to release in 2022.
Aaryan posted a short video on Instagram, announcing the title of the film.
“Satyanarayan Ki Katha is a musical love saga that brings together a powerhouse of people who are National award-winning names,” the actor said in a statement. In fact, he is the only member of the team without a National award, he shared.
Aaryan also said this is his first time collaborating with National award-winning director Sameer Vidwans, who is helming the project. The film marks Vidwans’ Hindi directorial debut. He has previously helmed Marathi movies like Double Seat, Time Please, Mala Kahich Problem Naahi, and Anandi Gopal.

The film’s female lead and the rest of the cast and crew are yet to be announced.
Satyanarayan Ki Katha will go on floors towards the end of this year. The film is co-produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and Namah Pictures.
Meanwhile, Aaryan is set to make his digital debut on Netflix with the upcoming Hindi film Dhamaka, directed by Ram Madhvani. He will also be seen in Bhool Bulaiyaa 2, which is a sequel to the 2007 psychological horror comedy film Bhool Bhulaiyaa. The actor is in talks with filmmaker Aanand L Rai for an upcoming project as well.

Aaryan was also supposed to be part of Dostana 2. However, in April, Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions announced that they would be recasting for the film, which originally starred Aaryan, Janhvi Kapoor, and Lakshya in the lead. While the reason behind Aaryan’s exit from the film was not revealed, several reports claimed that he was dropped from the film due to alleged “unprofessional behaviour”.
