Sayesha Saigal: “I Successfully Managed To Speak Tamil!”

Shivvay actress Sayyeshha Saigal is all set for her first Tamil release – Vanamagan. The 19-year-old actress, who happens to be the niece of veteran actors Saira Banu and Dilip Kumar, is excited about the Tamil projects she’s become a part of even before her first release.

In conversation with Deccan Chronicle, she confessed that she’d worked really hard for Vanamagan. “Initially, I didn’t know that Prabhudheva sir was choreographing my song. When many told me that he is a tough taskmaster, I didn’t feel the pressure, as I am passionate about dance!” She further adds: “There was a particular movement in the song, which was very challenging. He had performed that move for one of his songs in the ‘90s. Since I got it right in my first take, he was very happy and complimented me.”

Sayyeshha also said that she ‘successfully managed’ to speak in Tamil. “I am a quick learner and I can speak good Telugu now! In Vanamagan, there are so many dialogues. In the climax, I had to speak a three-page monologue in a single shot. I managed successfully.”

Her second Tamil project is, incidentally, with Prabhu Deva titled Karuppu Raja Vellai Raja starring Vishal and Karthi Sivakumar. Sayyeshha is the only female lead in this film.

Vanamagan is all set to release on June 23. Directed by Vijay, the film features Jayam Ravi as a tribal man while Sayyeshaa play a modern girl called Kavya. Initial reports indicate that the film is loosely based on the Tarzan series.
