Shanthnu Bhagyaraj and Parvathy have been cast in the lead roles in R Parthiepan’s next directorial venture. Titled Koditta Idangalai Nirapuga, the film went on the floors on 15 July this year. Parthiepan will also appear in this movie.
Shanthnu’s character is said to be something of a girl-magnet. “It would have fit a newcomer as well, but I felt that it was my duty to do something for Shanthnu. He has been trying to make it big, but unfortunately hasn’t been able to succeed so far. I will be glad if I’m behind his success,” says Parthiban, adding, “This is my way of paying my respects to my guru K Bhagyaraj sir. He is the reason for my present status in life.”
Shanthnu will be sporting a new look for the movie. Parthiepan also revealed that he cast Parvathy because she was apt for the role. “I believe that the audience only sees if an actor suits the character, and Parvathy is apt for the role that she plays in this film. I chose Parvathy as she already looks 50 % of the character, who is a Malayali girl named Mohini,” he explained.
The team has shot for the movie in Mahabalipuram, and hopes to film in Chennai, Kerala and also in a foreign location.
The film is partially produced by smaller producers Reel Estate Company and Bioscope Film Framers. Following the Hollywood trend – which Kannada films such as U-Turn have as adopted in the recent past – Koditta Idangalai Nirapuga is crowd-funded.

The music of the film is composed by C Sathya of Velainu Vandhutta Vellaikaaran (2016) fame and lyrics are by Madhan Karky. M V Paneer Selvam of April Maadhathil (2006) fame is the cinematographer of the film. The lead roles are yet to be confirmed.
Shanthnu’s latest release, Vaaimai, opened to mixed reviews. Parvathy Nair was last seen in a small role in Uttama Villain (2015). She is a part of Enkitta Mothathe and Pirai Thediya Naatkal.
