Actor Shilpa Shetty Kundra, who is returning to the big screen after a 13-year hiatus, wrapped up shooting of her upcoming film Nikamma on Thursday.
She took to Twitter to make the announcement and posted a video of the shoot’s wrap-up with the crew posing for a group picture from the sets.
“Returning to a movie set after a 13-year hiatus wasn’t easy. But, it just felt right to take the leap of faith with #Nikamma! As we wrap up the shoot and look forward to sharing it with you, I can’t help but reminisce the journey I’ve experienced since last year!”

Talking about her character in the film, she wrote: “A wonderful team, a well-written character ‘Avni’, and all the madness we enjoyed on the sets… have all made it extremely memorable. Will miss you all (I’m sure Sabbir is not going to miss the shenanigans of his #NikammaBunch, though)”
Shetty Kundra posted a few pictures on Instagram and penned her memories as: “The #NikammaShootWrap is a bitter-sweet moment for me… I’ve had an absolute blast shooting with this crazy #Nikamma bunch! We’ve spent so much time together that I’m really going to miss all the madness, but I’m taking back memories that will last a lifetime… all thanks to my director, Sabbir Khan, Abhimanyu, and Shirley. Can’t wait for you all to see the result of our labour of love! For now.. it’s a WRAP..Yaaaaay!”

Directed by Sabbir Khan and bankrolled under Sony Pictures International Productions and Sabbir Khan Films, the action-thriller film also features actor Abhimanyu Dassani, singer Shirley Setia and actor Samir Soni in major roles.
The film was earlier supposed to release in June but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the film’s shoot had to be halted for over eight months.
Shetty Kundra also has Hungama 2 in the pipeline. It is directed by Priyadarshan (marking his comeback after seven years to Hindi films) featuring Paresh Rawal, Meezan Jaffrey and Pranitha Subhash.
During her hiatus from films, she has been a judge in several dance-reality shows such as Jhalak Dhikhla Jaa, Zara Nach Ke Dikha, Nach Baliye, Super Dancer among others.
