Actress Shruti Haasan, who was in town yesterday to support the audio launch of her father Kamal Haasan’s film Thoongaavanam, has completed her portions in Vedalam, directed by Siruthai Siva, and co-starring Ajithkumar. The teaser of Vedalam was launched at 12 am today, and fans had a field day retweeting hashtags about the film, and Ajith. There were no glimpses of either of the two lead actresses, Shruti Haasan and Lakshmi Menon, in the teaser. (Read our review of the teaser here).

Shruti Haasan received mixed responses for Puli, which also starred Vijay and Sridevi. With Vedalam scheduled to release this Diwali, expectations on her performance will be high. The film will also go up against Kamal Haasan’s Thoongaavanam at the box office.
Vedalam stars Ajith, Shruti Haasan, Lakshmi Menon, Soori, Ashwin Kakumanu, Rahul Dev and Kabir Duhan Singh in significant roles. Music director Anirudh Ravichander’s BGM in the 45-second teaser seems to have gone down well with critics and fans thus far.
