The saint travelled to India during 52 AD, and was killed in Chennai, in a suburb which is presently called St Thomas Mount. The film will follow his journey to India and the events that occurred then.
The pre-production work for the movie has begun, and the shooting will begin early 2018, with Indian and international actors as part of the cast. The movie will be shot in Kerala, Chennai and Sri Lanka.
Sivaji Productions, which is managed by actors Prabhu and Ram Kumar, had earlier produced movies like the Rajinikanth-starrer Chandramukhi. Their last production was Aasal, which released in 2010.
