Written and directed by Pratyush, the movie features Yash Dasgupta, Mimi Chakraborty, Nusrat Jahan, Ena Saha, Sabyasachi Chakraborty, Shantilal among others. The lead actors shared the announcement on their respective social media handles.
Chakraborty, who is also a Member of Parliament, documented the precautionary measures that were taken during the film’s shoot on her YouTube channel. She showed a reduced crew size, usage of PPE kits and availability of masks and sanitisers across the studio.
SOS Kolkata marks the second collaboration of actors and MPs Nusrat Jahan and Chakraborty. They were seen together in Birsa Dasgupta’s Crisscross (2018).
The film, bankrolled by Jarek Entertainment and Pratyush Entertainments, has been billed as an action thriller about a terrorist attack set in the city of Kolkata. According to producers, in the film, civilians join hands with security personnel to prevent the attack that has been planned as a recreation of the Mumbai 26/11 terrorist attack.

The shooting of the film was stalled after the country went into lockdown in wake of rising Covid-19 cases. In July, the West Bengal government permitted the resumption of film shoots in the presence of precautionary measures.

His upcoming projects include Baazi that will feature Jeet and Chakraborty.
