Filmmaker Soundarya Rajinikanth Ashwin gave birth to a baby boy on May 6 at a private hospital in Chennai. According to the family’s spokesperson, both mother and baby are hale and healthy. It is to be noted that Rajinikanth publicly wished for his daughter to start a family first and then chase her filmmaking dreams.

Soundarya rose to fame as the founder of Ocher Studios, which produced the Venkat Prabhu film Goa. Following the release of her debut film Kochadaiiyaan, starring her father in the lead role, she took on the task of managing the creative and strategy side of Eros Digital. Soundarya married industrialist Ashwin Ramkumar in the year 2010. Rajinikanth already has two grandsons Yatra and Linga born to his eldest daughter Aishwarya and popular actor Dhanush.
