Director Sri Ganesh of 8 Thottakkal fame is back with a new project titled Kuruthi Attam. It will have Atharvaa Murali in the lead. According to the latest reports, veteran actors Radharavi and Radhika Sarathkumar have joined the film’s cast.
Kurudhi Attam is pegged to be an action-thriller, produced by Rock Fort Entertainment in association with I B Karthikeyan of Big Print Pictures. While the film is expected to go on floors soon, complete details about the cast and crew have not been announced yet.
The director said that the film will be based in Madurai and the story will revolve around a bunch of gangsters. He also said that the film will have raw and exciting action sequences, with a mix of drama and comedy.
Talking about Atharvaa, Ganesh said that Atharvaa’s commercial appeal is on the rise and he is just right for the role. Sri Ganesh made his directorial debut with the crime thriller 8 Thottakal in 2017. He started his career by assisting Crazy Mohan and his theatre troupe, Ganesh reportedly fell in love with cinema by the time he graduated from college. It was Mysskin who mentored him before he directed his first film.
Atharvaa last film was the comedy thriller Semma Bodha Aagathey, directed by Badri Venkatesh. The trailer of Boomerang, directed by R Kannan, was unveiled on Friday. It stars Atharvaa, Megha Akash, RJ Balaji and Indhuja Ravichandran, among others. The trailer hints at the movie being a political one.

The actor also has Sam Anton’s 100. Also starring Hansika Motwani, Atharvaa will be playing the role of a police officer for the first time in this film. He is also awaiting the release of Imaikka Nodigal, which has Nayanthara in the lead and Anurag Kashyap as the antagonist. “The movie is an emotional thriller that focusses on sibling love. Nayanthara, Atharvaa and Anurag Kashyap have pivotal roles. Vijay Sethupathi has a cameo,” said the producer at the audio launch. The film is scheduled to release on August 24.
