Carrie Fisher, best known for playing Princess Leia in the Star Wars films, had a heart attack on board a flight from London to Los Angeles. The attack occurred approximately 15 minutes before the plane landed in LA, reported celebrity news website TMZ. A medic who was travelling on the plane administered CPR to the 60-year-old actress.
Paramedics subsequently spent another 15 minutes administering CPR to Fisher before finally getting a pulse. Her brother Todd said she was currently in intensive care in Los Angeles.
“If everyone could just pray for her that would be good,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “The doctors are doing their thing and we don’t want to bug them. We are waiting by patiently.”
Fisher had been on tour promoting her latest book, The Princess Diarist.
A law enforcement official told NBC that her condition was “not good”.
Passengers on Fisher’s plane tweeted about the incident as well.
Don’t know how else to process this but Carrie Fisher stopped breathing on the flight home. Hope she’s gonna be OK ?
